Freetext Search - Client Computing

What is the Freetext Search Module? Freetext searching enables the user to search within the contents of message files for specific terms (words) or phrases. It is just like using an internet search engine to search for terms (words) or phrases contained in an HTML file belonging to a site.

The Freetext Search module is useful for searching the content of the message files, but it is also possible to cross reference both content specific parameters and meta-data parameters.

A search query using the Freetext Search module can for example search for a given segment or data element or a combination of these within the file contents, in addition to take in account for the meta-data belonging to the message. Typical meta-data for messages in ECxgate is when the message was logged, message type/format, company/partner and so on. Note: All free text searches are sorted by relevance not by log time.
